Breathing is one of my favorite activities! Yes, I love to play softball, watch baseball, football, read, write, and chat on the phone with my kids, but breathing will always remain #1.
Did you know you can’t breathe through your nose while smiling (I bet you just did it. Can you spell naïve?)?
Though I consider breathing an awesome activity, there is an expansive contrast between good breath and bad breath. Drive past a dead Armadillo on a country road; BAD breath. Drive past Killen’s BBQ in Pearland; GREAT breath!
From what I’m told, loss of smell is one of the side effects of COVID. I can’t imagine going a day without smelling my favorite aromas. (BBQ, crawfish, bacon, the ocean, baked cookies, my leather softball glove). But I digress. According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), indoor air is 200 times more polluted than outdoor air. The EPA coined a term, “Toxic Home Syndrome,” claiming that 6 out of every 10 homes were unhealthy to its inhabitants. Thus, indoor air = BAD breath.
All homeowners should be educated on the quality of air in their home. Mold, allergens, dander, bacteria, pathogens, VOC’s, germs, microorganisms, and other contaminants accelerate allergies, asthma, and respiratory issues.
Want proof? Look at your a/c air filter during peak summer months. All that disgusting collected debris was air-born. Yes, you inhaled it without a filter.
Unfortunately, most attribute respiratory suffering to seasonal allergies. In most (all) cases, the culprit is dander, dust and mold.
There are over 100,000 species of mold on our planet. In our part of the state, there are five prominent mold types. One of which is dangerously toxic. (Stachybotrys). The others wreak havoc on our olfactory system
According to the EPA, over 50% of homes in America have mold. Upon further review, they are probably grossly underestimating. For example:
Warm air + cool air = condensation.
Mold needs moisture to grow and spread. Our Texas climate is perfect for a single mold spore to multiply exponentially into the millions, in a few short days. Breathing with the temporary assistance of pharmaceuticals is not healthy breathing. (Living off pharmaceuticals is not healthy living). Every living organism on this planet needs air to survive. Surviving is easy if we breathe cleanly!
Hygienitech Solutions can provide indoor air quality testing, as well as complete decontamination/sanitizing that will be convert indoor air to healthy air.
